I started by building interfaces. Now I design them.
I’m Vishal, a product designer in Mumbai with 8+ years across front-end development and design. I’ve designed for Tata Play, Dell and IKEA, and I still build things myself when I want to know if an idea holds up.
The story
From code to design.
I studied computer engineering and spent my first three years at Capgemini as a front-end developer, building staffing tools for Allegis Group. The more I built, the more I cared about what the screen should do, not just how to code it.
In 2020 I moved into design on the same product and set up its first design system. At frog I redesigned IKEA’s developer portal on the Skapa design system. Since 2022 I’ve been at HFI: first on Dell’s data protection platform, where reporting and scheduling had to work for people managing thousands of backups, and now on Tata Play SMART, where people build a TV plan by language and pay for it on their phone.
Along the way I designed and built Revisit, my own iOS app, to take an idea all the way from sketch to App Store on my own.
