Hi Qashio Team,

I saw that, you are actively looking for a Product Designer to help you design better products?

This is my job application for the below jobs that you are currently hiring -

I'm Vishal Thakur, product designer at

HFI

I could have directly applied through your careers page or sent a standard cold email.

But while AI makes us all feel superhuman, it still hasn't quite figured out how to beat the ATS.

quick summary of my 8 years

Engineer turned Designer!

Started my career as a frontend developer, worked for a few years, and then transitioned into design.

How I Learnt Design?

Not having a traditional design education, I looked for other ways to learn design and still continue learning to get better at it.

Companies I Have Worked With

I have worked with teams and products across global brands including Capgemini, IKEA, Dell Technologies, Jetstar Airways, frog, and HFI.

And hopefully, Qashio next.

Versions

created before saying “Okay… this one feels right.”

my work

all this is fine, but what mostly matters is the kind of work I have done

So, here are the few projects I have worked on across Dell, IKEA & Personal Projects in last 5-6 years

Revisit iOS app

Designed and built an iOS app to help users

save places, plan itineraries, and share trips seamlessly.

IKEA's Developer's Portal

Redesigned the developer portal using the Skapa Design System to improve usability and developer efficiency.

Schedule Visualisation

Simplified complex project timelines into an intuitive visual interface for better planning and decision-making.

my design process

In my 8+ years in the industry, I haven't seen a single project follow a textbook framework like Double Diamond from start to finish.

What I have learned instead is how to adapt the process based on the problem, the team, and the timelines.

Here’s how I typically work:

1

Understanding the problem

I start with requirement discussions with stakeholders and PMs to understand the business context, constraints, and goals.

2

Breaking it down

I take notes, ask questions, and clarify edge cases. This is where I try to remove ambiguity as much as possible.

3

Exploring solutions

I quickly move into ideas and multiple directions, keeping them rough and flexible in the beginning.

4

Aligning with team

I discuss these directions with PMs and engineers to validate feasibility, timelines, and trade-offs early.

5

Iterating towards clarity

Based on feedback, I refine the solutions through multiple iterations until we align on a direction.

6

Finalising and handoff

I prepare the final designs, ensure clarity for developers, and support them during implementation.

7

Post-release learning

After release, I stay involved to review outcomes, gather feedback, and identify improvements.

ai is here!

AI is everywhere right now. Almost every team has its own tools and workflows.

What matters is not just using AI, but how effectively you use it to move faster and make better decisions.

Here’s how I approach it:

Explore
More Directions Faster

Reduce
Repetitive Work

Prototype & Test Concepts Early

I recently built an iOS app called Revisit completely using AI tools. You can check it out here:

why qashio?

I'm genuinely interested in exploring an opportunity to work with Qashio. I have recorded a short video explaining that.

Looking forward to your response.
